For business & developers

WLED in professional use

What makes an installation reliable, which documentation exists, which interfaces, and how LED-Emotion supports your project.

Project flow in five steps

  1. Clarify requirements

Zones, effects, operation (staff, schedule, building services), network, environment.

  2. Select components

Strip type and voltage, controller by outputs and connectivity, PSUs with headroom, profiles, injection plan.

  3. Prototype

Build one zone in advance: check brightness, colour, heat, design presets.

  4. Installation

Electrics by specialists, controllers onto the network (DHCP reservation, VLAN), load configuration.

  5. Handover

Briefing, documentation (IP, pins, presets), backups, maintenance and update plan.

Recommendations for continuous operation

ConnectivityLAN instead of Wi-Fi: 4336-616 (pixel), 4336-611 (PWM), 4336-620 (both)
Switch-offrelay per output, strip unpowered when off (4336-616, 4336-116-RF)
Protectionfuse per channel, cross-sections by current; 4336-611 with factory 20 A fuse
Operationpresets on ESP-NOW remote or buttons, schedules
Maintenancearchive cfg.json and presets.json per device, test updates first
Environmentcontrollers IP20: dry, temperature range per datasheet (e.g. −20 to +45 °C)
For business
Licence: WLED is EUPL v1.2, commercial use allowed. Distributing modified firmware brings licence obligations. No licence or cloud costs.

Compliance & documents

As importer, LED-Emotion provides manuals, datasheets, safety and installation notes plus CE and RoHS documentation for the GLEDOPTO controllers. WEEE reg. no. DE31852878.

Set an effect

curl -X POST http://wled-theke.local/json/state \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"on":true,"bri":160,"seg":[{"id":0,"fx":9,"pal":11}]}'

fx = effect ID, pal = palette ID; lists at /json/effects and /json/palettes.

Recall preset 3

curl -X POST http://wled-theke.local/json/state -d '{"ps":3}'

For developers
Always take the pinout from the datasheet. Examples: 4336-116-RF data IO2/IO16, relays IO21/IO19, PDM mic SD IO32/WS IO15, button IO17. 4336-611 PWM IO18/16/12/4/2, extra GPIO IO13, button IO17.

Network and security

WLED runs locally without a cloud. The web UI uses unencrypted HTTP on the LAN. So: own network segment, no port forwarding to the internet, remote access via VPN only.

On every device change the hotspot password, set a settings PIN and update protection. The classic ESP32 only uses the 2.4 GHz band.

Support and custom solutions

LED-Emotion also develops custom controls: simulations for fairs and exhibitions, 1D, 2D and 3D effects, industrial applications with PLC integration.
