Guide
Install WLED
Flash the ESP32 in the browser via USB in a few minutes. Usually not needed for ready-made WLED controllers.
install.wled.me in Chrome or Edge over a USB data cable. Controllers shipped with WLED don’t need flashing: power on and set up right away.Check whether flashing is needed
The GLEDOPTO WLED controllers in the range ship with WLED. You only need to flash for your own ESP32 board, a fresh start, or after a failed update. The 4321-WL4 (MiBoxer) runs vendor firmware with RF and Tuya features: please ask us before reflashing it.
USB data cable and browser
A USB cable that carries data (charge-only cables won’t work) and Chrome or Edge on a computer. Firefox and Safari don’t support the required Web Serial interface.
Open the web installer
Open install.wled.me, pick the current stable release and, for controllers with an Ethernet port, the Ethernet variant. Click “Install” and select the controller’s serial port.
No port shown?
Install the driver for the USB-serial chip (often CH340 or CP2102, see datasheet). Some boards need the BOOT button held while plugging in. Try another cable and USB port.
Erase or keep
“Erase device” resets all settings, useful when troubleshooting. A plain update without erasing usually keeps settings. Back up first under Config → Security & Updates.
Set up Wi-Fi
After flashing, the installer offers to enter Wi-Fi directly. Alternatively connect to the WLED-AP hotspot (password wled1234) and set up at 4.3.2.1. WLED only uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Later updates
If WLED is already running, updates work without a cable: download the matching .bin from the releases page and upload it under Config → Security & Updates → Manual OTA. The file must match the chip (ESP32, ESP32-C3, ESP32-S3 …).
