Set up WLED
From unboxed controller to the first effect: the five settings that matter.
WLED-AP hotspot (password wled1234), enter your home Wi-Fi at 4.3.2.1, then set pixel count, data pin, LED type and current limit in the LED settings. The current limit defaults to 850 mA and almost always needs raising to the PSU’s rated current.Connect to WLED-AP
Power the controller. On your phone or laptop choose the Wi-Fi WLED-AP, password wled1234. The setup page opens, otherwise open 4.3.2.1 in the browser.
Enter home Wi-Fi
Config → WiFi Setup: network name and password (2.4 GHz only). Give it a device name, e.g. wled-kitchen; it is then reachable at http://wled-kitchen.local. Assign a fixed IP in the router.
LED settings
Config → LED Preferences: LED type (usually WS281x), colour order (WS2812B usually GRB), length = pixel count, data pin per the controller datasheet. For controllers with relays also set the relay pin.
Set the current limit
Max current (ABL) to the PSU’s rated current, e.g. 13,300 mA at 24 V / 320 W. “Current per LED” to match the strip; the set planner calculates it. The limiter only estimates and is no substitute for a fuse.
Test, save a preset, back up
White at full brightness: if the end stays white, the power feed is fine. Pick an effect and save it as a preset. Back up configuration and presets as files under Config → Security & Updates.
