Control multiple LED strips

Three ways, depending on distance, pixel count and desired frame rate.

Short answer
If the strips are close together, chain them on one output and split them into segments in WLED. With many pixels or separate locations, each strip gets its own output (own GPIO, start LED, length). If locations are far apart, one controller per area, synced over the network.
Step 1

Way 1: in series, segments

Data from DO of the first strip to DIN of the next. In WLED length = total pixels, then create segments in the UI (start and end per strip). Each segment can have its own effect.

Step 2

Way 2: several outputs

Config → LED Preferences: add another output with +, own GPIO per datasheet (e.g. 4321-WL4: GPIO 4, 16, 18, 19), start LED = end of the previous output. Benefit: higher frame rate, short data runs.

Step 3

Way 3: several controllers

Config → Sync Interfaces: enable sending on the leading controller and receiving on the others, same WLED version. Ideal for large distances; for shows with many controllers prefer LAN.

Step 4

Power for every strip

Every strip needs its own power feed; the current shouldn’t run through the whole chain. Connect all GNDs, never parallel the plus outputs of several PSUs. The set planner calculates with zones.

Safety
Disconnect the PSU from mains before working on cables. Work on the 230 V side only by a qualified electrician.
