Doesn't react to music
3 checks, sorted by how often they are the cause. For all WLED controllers with ESP32.
Check in this order: the most common and simplest cause comes first. Usually the cause is found after two or three steps.
Most common cause
Controller with microphone? Music effects need a microphone on the controller (e.g. 4336-310, 4336-USB, 4336-616) and the AudioReactive feature.
Controller with microphone?
Music effects need a microphone on the controller (e.g. 4336-310, 4336-USB, 4336-616) and the AudioReactive feature.
Microphone configured?
Under Usermods → AudioReactive set microphone type and pins per datasheet (e.g. 4336-116-RF: PDM, SD IO32, WS IO15).
Sensitivity
Lower squelch (noise threshold) and raise gain until the level meter reacts. Pick an effect marked with a note symbol (♪).
Safety
Disconnect the PSU from mains before working on cables. Work on the 230 V side only by a qualified electrician.
